Not a franchisee or a truck driver from a booking system. The bloke who quotes it is the bloke who loads it.
He does the lifting
No bags to fill, no skip to load. Leave it in a pile and he loads it, sweeps up and takes it away.
Priced off your pile
Not a bin size. A heap beside the driveway and one at the bottom of a steep yard are different jobs and get different prices.
A straight no when it’s a no
Standing tree, asbestos, or more rubbish than garden — he tells you before he starts, not after.
What Ross does
Green waste removal services in The Basin
A pruning pile hauled away and a few bags of leaf litter collected is the usual combination on a The Basin block.
Green Waste Removal The Basin
Piles of prunings, branches, hedge trimmings, leaves and weeds that won't fit in the green bin. Ross backs the trailer in, loads it himself and takes it away to be recycled — you don't lift a thing.
Native and exotic prunings from foothill blocks.
Garden & Yard Clean-Ups The Basin
Doing a big garden clean-up — overgrown beds, a back corner nobody has touched in years, a rental between tenants or a property being tidied for sale? Pile it all up and Ross collects the lot in one visit.

Fire Season Clean-Ups The Basin
Fallen limbs, shed bark, leaf litter and dry prunings gathered up from around the house — the fine fuel that matters most in a grassfire or ember attack. Collected and taken away before the Fire Danger Period starts.
Interface blocks cleared before the heat arrives.
Fallen Branch & Storm Clean-Up The Basin
A gum has dropped a limb across the driveway, or a windy night has left the yard covered. Ross collects what's come down and hauls it away. Standing trees and hung-up limbs are an arborist's job — once they've dropped it, Ross can take it away.
What green waste removal in The Basin actually involves
The Basin sits where Knox meets the foot of the Dandenong Ranges. The lower streets are ordinary suburban blocks, but as the roads climb toward the forest the lots get larger, the slopes get steeper and the tall trees take over. Plenty of back fences run straight into bushland.
That edge position means a lot of material. Gums and wattles drop into yards, native gardens need regular cutting back, and the ranges' wet winters push everything into a spring growth spurt. Ross provides green waste removal for The Basin — pruning piles, the leftovers from overgrown gardens and fallen limbs, loaded by hand and taken away.
Loaded by hand, strapped down, and off to the green waste facility.
Living on the bush edge
The Basin has a strong bushland character, and many people here garden with natives that fit the setting. Those gardens are low-maintenance day to day but need a solid cut-back every year or two to stay healthy, and that produces big piles.
Leaves and bark blow in from the forest constantly. Raking them off lawns and paths is one job; getting rid of the result is another. Ross takes the lot, including the leaf litter, so it does not end up in a heap by the fence.

From flat streets to steep lots
Access varies a lot depending on which part of The Basin you are in. Lower down, the trailer can often park right at the kerb. Higher up the hill, the driveways get steep and the back yards are a long walk from the road.
Ross carries by hand wherever the trailer cannot go. Including a photo of the route from the pile to the street with your enquiry means he can quote fairly and turn up ready.

Fire risk on the interface
Homes next to the national park are on the bushfire interface, and Knox City Council takes fire prevention seriously in these areas. The priority is fine fuel near the house: dry leaves, bark, dead plants and cut material left lying around.
A fire season clean-up clears that fuel off the property. Ross can collect from several spots around a bigger block, so the whole job is done in one visit.

Get it done before the Fire Danger Period
The CFA declares a Fire Danger Period for Knox as the weather heats up, and the council checks properties on the bush interface. A spring clean-up gives you time to finish before the busy weeks in late November and December.
Suburb, roughly how much there is, and what the access is like. A photo saves a lot of back and forth.

The bloke doing it
Owner-operated, and it stays that way
Ross runs this on his own. He quotes the job, he turns up, he loads the trailer and he
takes it away — the same bloke every visit. There is no office in between, no skip
company, and no franchise cut coming out of what you pay.
It also means he will tell you when something isn't his job — a standing tree that
needs an arborist, or a pile that is more rubbish than garden — rather than taking the
money and leaving you with half a problem.
Green waste removal in The Basin — common questions
Yes. The Basin is covered, from the flatter streets up to the blocks right under the forest. Send a photo and the address for a quote.
How big the pile is and how far it has to be carried. A kerbside heap is quicker than a load from the back of a steep block, and the price reflects that.
Both. Leaves, bark, twigs, clippings and prunings all go. Leaves are easiest to load if they are raked into a heap or put in bags that can be tipped out.
Ross can clear material on your property, including along the fence line. Anything over the fence on public land is not his to touch.
No. Tree removal needs an arborist and often a Knox City Council permit. Ross handles what is already on the ground.
No. The service is green waste only — no household rubbish, building waste, rubble, soil, treated timber or potential asbestos. That keeps the loads suitable for green waste recycling.

Thanks — that's gone through to Ross. Spring is his busiest time, so if it's close to fire season he may take a day or two.
